I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself formally and express my sincere excitement to be starting my tenure here in Woodbury City Public Schools as Superintendent. I’ve been warmly welcomed by so many already and am particularly grateful for the opportunity to learn more about the Woodbury Community and its rich history.
Each day, I am learning more about the district and community. I've already learned about the great things that are happening in Woodbury Schools each day as well as the great people who are working so diligently to provide an exceptional educational experience for our scholars each day. I am committed to continuing to support all that is currently working well and am eager to collaborate in order to focus on issues that need addressing. I have come to realize effective leaders balance making things happen through action with observing and reflecting. I am deeply committed to both.
Personally, know that first and foremost, I am a single father of two young children, who are the very reason why education is so important to me. When making decisions that affect children, I always gauge those ideas around what I would want and expect for my own children. I use that as the measuring stick in doing what is best for our students. I pledge that by taking on the role of superintendent, I will do my best for Woodbury’s students, staff and families. I see the task of keeping our students safe and feeling loved paramount along with supporting and nurturing their academic development tied to their social and emotional growth. Our goal simply is to develop the “whole’ child. There is much to be excited about in the Woodbury Educational Community in the days and weeks to come and I look forward to sharing my vision with you all and hearing from you as my partners as we move forward.
