Approximately 62% of Woodbury Junior-Senior High students participate in athletics, which is an essential element of the balanced college preparatory curriculum that enriches the body, mind, and spirit. A continued commitment to team sports aids in the cultivation of invaluable characteristics, such as discipline, dedication, collaboration, and sportsmanship. Furthermore, the ability to work within a team towards a common goal is paramount for a collective educational experience.
Home of the Thundering Herd, Woodbury is a member of the historical Colonial Conference, which encompasses public schools located in Camden, and Gloucester counties. Our entire athletics program consists of 9 boys’ sports and 9 girls’ sports, the majority of which offer Junior Varsity and Middle School levels. Each year we have student-athletes go on to play a sport in college at the Division I, II, and III levels with great success.
Most importantly, our coaches genuinely care about our student-athletes as people and are chiefly concerned about the maturation of our students as a whole, not simply as an athlete. They instill and develop within our student-athletes essential interpersonal tools, such as leadership and communication skills. These qualities will be critical throughout their Woodbury High School, collegiate, and professional careers.
