Over 100 individuals participated in one or more of our district Strategic Planning Sessions during the opening months of this school year. After four community-wide evenings of conversation, further work by a subset of individuals who acted as a steering committee, and then final edits by the members of our Board of Education, a new strategic plan for the district was formally approved by the board at their December 2014 meeting.
This new Strategic Plan is entitled Targeting Excellence. The plan goes into effect immediately and will be used to guide our decisions and actions over the course of the next three school years. A copy of the plan can be found in the links below:
We look forward to this plan propelling our district to greater heights and advancing our position as a Leader in Personalizing Education.
Implementation Teams. We sought individuals to join Implementation Teams. This is a new component of our strategic planning process. There was an Implementation Team for each of the five “strands” of the new plan:
These groups met as frequently as monthly, and the suggested start time for the meetings was 3:30 p.m. Individual teams may have altered the frequency and time of the meetings if there was agreement among all team members.
Please let the secretary to the superintendent, Stacy Hoffman, know if you are interested in joining one of the teams. Identify the team that you are interested in joining – or indicate that you do not have a preference.

Following the development of ideas at these four initial meetings, a smaller steering committee met for two additional meetings to finalize the main thoughts and ideas generated throughout the process. Ultimately, the Communications Committee of the Board of Education reviewed the notes from all of the meetings and recommended the final plan above to the full Board for approval.
If you have any questions regarding any part of the planning process, please do not hesitate to contact the superintendent’s office.
