Woodbury Public Schools Technology Department

WPS Technology Logo

The Technology Department consists of three divisions. They are the Technical/Networking Division, the Instructional – PK to 5 Division and Instructional – Junior/Senior High School Division.

Technical/Networking Division

Technology Coordinator Ian Gordon along with Senior Technician Dan Marakowski and Technician James Futia take care of our extensive network and the approximately 700 district computers including 19 computer labs. Mr. Gordon, Mr. Marakowski, and Mr. Futia strive to keep Woodbury Public Schools on the leading edge of computer/network technology in order to provide for the students every opportunity to develop and increase skills that will be needed in further educational and occupational pursuits.

Instructional – PK to 5 Division

Susan Sarlo and Susan Dougherty are the technology teachers for the Elementary Schools in Woodbury. Both Mrs. Sarlo and Mrs. Dougherty not only operate the Computer Labs in each of the Elementary Schools but they also bring the C.O.W.s (Computers On Wheels) around to the classrooms and work with the classroom teachers in integrating the computer programs with what is being taught in the classroom.

Instructional – Junior/Senior High School

At the Junior/Senior High School the Instructional Technology Division consists of Mrs. Jill Rossi (Microsoft XP, Computer Skills), Miss Cindy Cheyney (CAD, and Basic Computers) and James Krauss (Multimedia, Web Design, Broadcast Technology and Basic Technology). There is also Mr. George Voss (Synergistics, Basic Technology and Wood Shop) and Mr. Ari Ford (Cisco Academy and Math). The objective of the technology teachers at Junior/Senior High School is to provide the student with the skills that will be needed in further educational and occupational pursuits.
