The
elementary counseling program assists in the early identification and
intervention of children’s needs. Activities are organized in
a way that is appropriate to students’ developmental levels.
Counselors work with teachers/parents/administrators in order to address
specific problem areas. Counselors address the following issues through
individual and group activities: academic achievement, decision making,
scheduling, anger management, character education, conflict resolution,
coping with divorce, separation of families, grief, goal setting, state
and local testing (ASK 3, 4 and 5) and transition to grade levels.
