Student Council

Advisors: Andrea Dougherty and Ariel Comer

  • About Us: Student Council is a passionate, dedicated group of Woodbury High School students that make it their mission to make a difference in their school and community. We have a variety of members from all grades with different skill sets, but what we all have in common is leadership skills and a sense of civic responsibility.

  • Why join?: We are actively involved in service year round – this helps our members earn service-learning hours AND have fun while assisting others in need.

  • Events and Highlights: Here are some of the many events that Student Council runs or participates in regularly:
    • Homecoming Dance – entirely responsible for the dance, including theme, food, services, and building the decorations.
    • Easter Egg Hunt – conducted for Woodbury Kindergartners
    • Students in Action – SIA is a national initiative, and we’re competing to speak in front of Congress this year! This is related to the service learning we do and includes leadership training.
    • City Council – We attend Woodbury City Council meetings once a year as well as liaison with Council members to work on projects. This year, for example, we are participating in National Make a Difference Day Oct. 25th!
    • Week of Respect – Student Council assists with special projects.

  • Meetings – the 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month during lunch in N229! Please come out and join our awesome team!
