New Roads
Construction Management Update – Dave Macken
Mr. Macken stated that Evergreen and
Mr. Macken stated that at the High School the
looping is complete and the vault is expected to arrive. In approximately two weeks, the High School
pipes are expected to be flushed and pressure tested, and glycol will be delivered
to all three (3) schools before school starts.
Interior pipe work at both elementary schools is
90% completed and ductwork is 95% completed.

The High School is expected to receive their first
shipment of 25 Airedale units on
Mr. Macken has stated that the High School Airedale
units can be phased in as the construction continues and will receive outside
air through the units. Mr. Maken stated
that the heat timelines at the High School are still a concern.

The Woodbury Board of
Education approved the Board Secretary’s Report in accordance with 18A:17-36
and18A:17-9 for the month of June 2006. The Board Secretary certified that no
line item account has been over-expended in violation of N.J.A.C. 6A:23-2.11c 3
and that sufficient funds are available to meet the district’s financial obligations
for the remainder of the fiscal year.

certified, pursuant to N.J.A.C. 6A:23-2.11c4, that after review of the
secretary’s monthly financial report (appropriations section) and upon
consultation with the appropriate district officials, that to the best of our

Assault Prevention Program

Woodbury Board of Education approved entering into a contract with New Jersey
Child Assault Prevention to provide administration and personnel sufficient to
implement the Child Assault Prevention Program and to provide “No More Bullies,
No More Victims” program for the 2006-07 school year for a total cost of $4,039.
(These programs will be funded with Early
Childhood Program Aid and NCLB monies.)

corrective action plan for the fiscal audit of the 2004-05 No Child Left Behind

2. Extraordinary Aid – 2005-06
The Woodbury Board of Education approved
accepting Extraordinary Aid in the amount of $27,249 from the 2005-06 fiscal
year, which was received in the 2006-07 fiscal year, and to appropriate said
funds in the 2006-07 budget for special education tuition in line item
11-000-100-566-00.
3. Memorandum of Agreement – 2006-07

Hill questioned how the Woodbury Public Schools expects to advertise the
giveaway of the computers, through students, and Library and if a lottery was
to take place for these computers would there be a waiver that City residents
have to sign.
9. Travel and Work Related Expenses for

the resolution for reimbursement of travel and work related expenses for
employees attending conferences, conventions, staff training, seminars and/or
workshops as previously approved by the Chief School

Mr.
Jones highlighted the new teacher program that started on August 22, 2006,

24, 2006 New Teacher Luncheon, Family nights, and the progress of the
construction.
Mr.
Chiesa questioned the changes to the Basic Skills Program.
Mr.
Jones discussed the AYP results and stated that in the 2006-07 school year we
will
need to provide SES at the High School.
Mr. Jones stated that we are looking at
standards
based programs at the High School.

13. COMMITTEE
REPORTS
Property Committee – Mary Ellen Moore, Chairperson
The Committee
discussed the evaluation of roofs in the district and the immediate replacement
needs. The Bids on the Stadium were
received but the Board cannot award because of permits. The Committee listed the pros and cons of the
synthetic turf for the athletic field.
Discussion of Turf:

Mr. Ferraino stated
he wants to see the costs of the turf spelled out.
-
Mr. Gwalthney
expressed concerns regarding flooding on the athletic field and questioned if
in 10 years we put grass down do we need to build a crown before laying the
grass.

Mr. Gwalthney
suggested that we reach out to the football, field hockey and soccer
coaches. He asked if field hockey
practice can be on different field other than the field that games are played
on.

Ms. Hill stated she
prefers the grass instead of turf and the cost to replace the turf in 10 years
will be more expensive.

Mrs. Dennen stated
she is for anything that serves more children.
She also stated that if there is no maintenance to sod they would need
to replace it.
Auditorium Seating
Issues:

The Property
Committee discussed the meeting with Straga and the
Performance Bond Company.
The next meeting
for the Property Committee will be September 26, 2006.
Personnel Committee – Lynn Jennings Dennen, Chairperson – no report
Finance Committee –
- The Finance Committee
met last week and discussed ways to save money.
Communications
Committee – Jerry Lonabaugh,
Chairperson
- The Communications
Committee met last Tuesday and worked on the White & Gold. They Committee discussed newsletter mailings
3 times per year.

14. REPRESENTATIVES
NJSBA Legislative
Delegate – Frank Gwalthney

Mr. Gwalthney
stated that the Legislative Committee discussed the bill in the legislature
regarding the requirement of each school district to pay contractors every 30
days even if they do not receive their SCC money. The school districts would be required to pay
interest if they pay beyond 30 days and the Committee has been asked to respond
to this bill.
City Council
Liaison – Anthony Chiesa
- The City discussed the
request to hang school banners in front of the High School and it seemed to be
no problem.

1. Standing orders -
Nurses do have a binder for substitutes.
Mrs. Mills stated that if the substitutes have a question they can contact
another nurse. The two (2) substitutes
that sub for the District now have substituted for a while.

Widner has not sent their students out into the general public this year, so we
do not have their help.
3. An RN degree is
required for an individual to substitute for a school nurse.
