A.  ROUTINE MATTERS

 

1.   Approval of Minutes

RESOLVED that the Woodbury Board of Education hereby approves the Minutes of the Board of Education Meetings held on August 22, 2006 and August 24, 2006.

2.   Secretary’s Report

                  RESOLVED that the Woodbury Board of Education hereby approves the July and August  2006 Secretary’s Reports.  (Exhibit 07-23) 

 

            3.   Treasurer’s Report

                  RESOLVED that the Woodbury Board of Education hereby approves the June (revised), July and August  2006 Treasurer’s Reports.(Exhibit 07-24)

 

4.   Transfers

RESOLVED that the Woodbury Board of Education hereby approves the transfers in line accounts in accordance with the lists submitted.  (Exhibit 07-25)

5.   Payment of Bills

RESOLVED that the Woodbury Board of Education hereby approves the payment of bills without exception.  (Exhibit 07-26)

 

6.   Revenue Amounts/Sources

RESOLVED that the Woodbury Board of Education recognizes the Board Secretary’s certification, in accordance with N.J.A.C. 6A:23-2.11c2, that there are no changes in anticipated revenue amounts and revenue sources.

 

7.   Certifications

a)   Secretary’s Report

Board Secretary’s Report in accordance with 18A:17-36 and18A:17-9 for the month of July 2006. The Board Secretary certifies that no line item account has been over-expended in violation of N.J.A.C. 6A:23-2.11c 3 and that sufficient funds are available to meet the district’s financial obligations for the remainder of the fiscal year. 

b)   Board of Education Certification

            The Woodbury Board of Education hereby certifies, pursuant to N.J.A.C.6A:23-2.11c4, that after review of the secretary’s monthly financial  report   (appropriations section) and upon consultation with the appropriate district officials, that to the best of our knowledge no major accounts or fund has been over-expended in violation of N.J.A.C. 6A:23-2.11c and that sufficient funds are available to meet the district’s financial obligations for the remainder of the fiscal year.

B.  PERSONNEL – PROFESSIONAL

           

            1.   Employment

 

                  RESOLVED that the Woodbury Board of Education hereby approves the employment of Sherri Lynn Cairns as Interim Teacher of Special Education (0.5     FTE). at Woodbury Jr.-Sr. High School, commencing September 7, 2006 through    June 21, 2007.  Ms. Cairns will be compensated at the rate of $80 per day.

 

            2.   Change of FTE (Full Time Equivalent)/Salary

 

                  RESOLVED that the Woodbury Board of Education hereby approves a change of FTE for Carla Branyan from 0.60 FTE to 0.73 FTE commencing September 7, 2006, and her salary will be changed accordingly.

 

            3.   Leave of Absence

     

RESOLVED that the Woodbury Board of Education hereby approves granting Yael Emenecker, Teacher of Literacy at Woodbury Jr. High School, a leave of absence under the federal Family Medical Leave Act for the period of on or about October 30, 2006 through March 13, 2007.

                                   

4.   Extra-Curricular  – 2006-07

 

      a)   RESOLVED that the Woodbury Board of Education hereby accepts the resignation of Christopher Sheppard as the Fall Weight Room Advisor.

      b)   RESOLVED that the Woodbury Board of Education hereby accepts the resignation of Tobey Realley as Grade 6-8 Student Council Advisor.

                  c)   RESOLVED that the Woodbury Board of Education hereby approves rescinding the stipend for Tobey Realley as Coach – Jr. High Girls Soccer since there will be no program during the 2006-07 school year.

      d)   RESOLVED that the Woodbury Board of Education hereby approves non-athletic extra-curricular appointments for the 2006-07 fiscal year.

10. Grant Writer

 

      RESOLVED that the Woodbury Board of Education hereby approves the appointment of Dr. Jeffrey Adams as the District Grant Writer at a stipend of $9,500 for the 2006-07 school year.

        d)   RESOLVED that the Woodbury Board of Education hereby approves the employment of Robert Burgess as a student worker in the Technology Department effective 9/19 – 10/31/06 for a maximum of 2 hours per week.  Mr. Burgess will be compensated at the rate of $7.50 per hour.

 

4.     Transfer

 

        RESOLVED that the Woodbury Board of Education hereby approves the transfer of Melissa Toole from Lunch Aide to Building Aide at Walnut Street School, effective September 25, 2006.  Mrs. Toole will be employed for 29 hours per week and her salary will be $8.75 per hour.

 

 

5.   Horizontal Move on the Salary Guide – 2006-07

 

RESOLVED that the Woodbury Board of Education hereby approves a horizontal move on the salary guide to Step 1 - Sub. Cert., effective October 1, 2006 for Jacqueline DeWitt, Kindergarten Aide at West End School .

1.   Transportation Agreements – 2006-07

 

      RESOLVED that the Woodbury Board of Education hereby approves Gateway and Harrison Twp. transportation agreements for 2006-07.  (Exhibit 07-27)

 

2.   Agreement – Kennedy Memorial Hospital

 

      RESOLVED that the Woodbury Board of Education hereby approves entering into an agreement with Kennedy Memorial Hospital during the 2006-07 fiscal year to provide substance abuse assessments for pupils appearing to be under the influence of substances as per the fee schedule.  (Exhibit 07-28)                  

 

3.      Homebound Instruction

     

      a)   RESOLVED that the Woodbury Board of Education hereby approves entering into a contract with Daytop Village to provide home instruction to student #1883 at a cost of $98 per day for the 2006-07 school year. 

      b)   RESOLVED that the Woodbury Board of Education hereby approves providing homebound instruction for the following students:

4.   Nursing Services for Out of District Student – Hollydell School

 

      RESOLVED that the Woodbury Board of Education hereby approves entering into a contract for “in school” nursing services for special education student #1579 attending Hollydell School for the 2006-07 at a cost of $50 per hour for RN services or $40 per hour for LPN services.

 

5.   NJ Department of Human Services Commission for the Blind and Visually Impaired Contract

 

      RESOLVED that the Woodbury Board of Education hereby approves entering into a contract with the NJ Department of Human Services Commission for the Blind and Visually Impaired to provide educational services from September 1, 2006 – June 30, 2007 for student # 1948 at a cost of $1,300.

 

6:   School-To-Work Program – Abilities Center

6.   Donation of Radio Controlled Clocks

 

      RESOLVED that the Woodbury Board of Education hereby accepts a donation of radio-controlled clocks from the West End School PTA to replace all wall clocks within the school.

 

7.   Bids - Track, Field and Stadium Replacement

 

      RESOLVED that the Woodbury Board of Education hereby approves receiving bids for the track, field and stadium replacement and to award contract to the low bidder, Art Andersen, Inc. (Exhibit 07-32)
