Thank you for your interest in the White and Gold. The White and Gold is the student produced newspaper at Woodbury High School. Under the guidance of the advisor and editor – in – chief, students write articles for news, editorials, features, entertainment, and sports stories. Once the writing process is complete, students use the latest publishing technology to produce the newspaper.
Being a part of the school’s newspaper can be a very exciting opportunity. You can share your thoughts and words with all of your classmates here at Woodbury Jr./Sr. High School. We use Microsoft Word, Microsoft Publisher, and Adobe InDesign on a daily basis. You will also learn how to use a digital camera and a scanner.
We meet everyday as a class during second period. Students interested in writing for the school newspaper should request the class in the Guidance Office. If you are unable to take the class, but have a passion for writing and graphic design, you can still be a part of the newspaper.
Students may submit articles of interest to Mrs. Downham in N32 for publication.
If you are interested in submitting an article, please use the following procedure:
- Get approval from Mrs. Downham on your subject/content of story
- Get current deadlines for upcoming edition
- Research, interview, & type story
- Take photos – digital or prints (we can scan photos)
- Email or bring your story on disk for submission with photos
